Web hosting pricing — myths and truth
Hosting prices range from a few euros to hundreds. The price is confusing because the services look the same on the surface. Let's bust the common myths.
Myth 1: "The cheapest is always enough"
Cheap shared hosting is fine for light sites. Problems start when traffic grows or the site becomes an online shop: on a shared server, resources are shared with other sites, and under load the site can slow down. Quality is not affected, but speed can be.
Myth 2: "A shared server is a security risk"
Not true. In well-built shared hosting, sites are isolated from each other, and a neighbouring site cannot reach your data. A shared server does not add risk — it mainly affects performance under heavy use.
Myth 3: "All gigabytes are equal"
Disk space is rarely the bottleneck. What matters more is how much computing power and memory your site has available. A private server dedicates all resources to your site alone — which is why it is recommended for heavy sites and high traffic.
What actually makes up the price?
- Server type — shared, private or private performance.
- Resources — memory, computing power and disk space (e.g. private includes 5 GB).
- Maintenance and support — updates, backups and help when something breaks.
- Domain and SSL — the domain name and encryption.
With us, every package includes one email address on your own domain and Let's Encrypt SSL. Prices are transparent and VAT 0%.
Which package fits you?
A light business site does fine on shared hosting. An online shop or busy site is better on private or performance. We help you choose honestly.
